FEBRUARY HIGHLIGHTS
By Marilyn Appner-Falor C.O. Sgt. (Ret.)
-------------------------------------------
It’s almost like Spring weather, and very
unusual for this time of year. Last year on Feb. 2 the weatherman
reported we had a huge snow storm with 10 to 12 inches of snow. It
depends on which ground hog you watched, because all but the famous
Phil predicted an early Spring.
We attended the funeral of Bob Schockman who died
in January. Bernie knew Bob’s family since the 1960’s and we
often talked with him when he was a Probation Officer here in
Monroe.
We had our flu shots, but we each had a touch of
the recent cold going around. I had to get drops for my infected
ears.
The Mary Kay business has picked up considerably
the last few weeks, and it keeps me busy doing meetings, facials,
and delivering products.
And, of course, our German Shepherd, Szimbo has a
bad case of "Cabin Fever" if he misses a day of training,
so he pesters me until I take him our and exercise him.
Greg Mominee in the U.P. called and said the snow
drifts are only up to his waist. But, he is making plans to visit
some of his K9 buddies down this way in the next month or so.
I finally got the right telephone number for
George Jondro. It was recommended at our January Breakfast meeting
that we invite George to come over and talk to us at the Feb. 13th
meeting.
We happened to see OP Parker in Meijers and he was a wealth of
information about what’s been happening. He will soon be a
Grandfather. Imagine that! MAF
