Climate Change Debate Over? It's Just Begun!
by Ken Blackwell 2/24/10
Just before the World Summit on Climate Change at Copenhagen last December, several hundred emails from the Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia were leaked. It appeared that Dr. Phil Jones had urged colleagues, including some at Penn State University, to “hide the decline” in world temperatures and encouraged others to do some of their usual “tricks” to get the
right result from ambiguous data. A huge scandal erupted, instantly dubbed “ClimateGate.”

Billy Graham Meets Bill Ayers by Sandy Rios 2/26/10
There’s hardly an evangelical who doesn’t know about Wheaton College. Alma Mater of the Reverend Billy Graham...
In the current document known as the “conceptual framework” of the education department at Wheaton College which must be endorsed by each of its faculty, the thinkers cited include among others, the father of the social justice movement, Brazilian Marxist, Paulo Freire and former Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers. Just a glimpse at Freire’s foundational treatise “Pedagogy of the Oppressed” will clearly display his sources: Marx, Lenin and revolutionary murderers Mao Tse Tung,
Fidel Castro and Che Guevera (see, “Pedagogy of the Oppressor,” March 28, 2009, in National Review by Sol Stern).
Professor Bill Ayers, co-founder of the Weather Underground, wanted the violent overthrow of the United States Government. Now elevated as a teacher of teachers, Ayers publicly states he has no regrets for his violence and only wished he had done more. The overthrow of the capitalist society was the goal of all these men and violence was their method. Today’s radicals condense their rage into
college curricula under the guise of “social justice.” The method is more cunning, but the goal no less sinister.
Why would Wheaton College embrace such a philosophy?

Family Takes a Team Effort by Kathryn Lopez 2/12/10
Don't you live for that moment right there?"
That's how Super Bowl XLIV ended, with former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason commenting on the scene of the night: the MVP, Saints quarterback Drew Brees, holding his young son in his arms, and with his wife looking on, sharing a momentous personal, cultural and historic moment with his family.

EVERY WONDER WHY
THEY WON’T DO THIS?

              By Bernie Falor
-------------------------------------------
My brother, Dr. Stanley E. L. Falor (74) passed away quietly at his home East of
Waynesburg, PA. in the early hours of Feb. 14, 2010. We went to his Memorial service Feb. 20th. at their church in Jefferson, PA just a few miles north of their home. He served as physician for the various (HS) athletic teams, doing their physicals, and attending the games in case any of the team would get injured.
Although he was 3 years younger than I, he stood over 6 feet tall, so I often referred to him as my “big-little brother. “ He had permission to do his residency at Toledo hospital, but he was called to serve as one of the doctors that did the physicals for the Vietnam inductees at Pittsburgh, PA. For two years, as a Captain in the U.S. Army he did physicals by day, and “moonlighted” at Westinghouse where the contract called for a physician on duty at all times, for the 70+ year-olds who made the huge turbines for power plants.
I teased him about getting paid to “sleep on the job,” but his wife said, “He is one of the few people who could rest for 20 minutes, and be refreshed enough to perform his duties effectively for as long as needed.
Dr. Stan spent a large portion of his career in the night emergency room at the local hospital, however, during the day, he took care of the inmates at the Greene County jail, and did physicals for local coal miners. For many years he served as Medical Director at the huge Greene County Prison. We had an opportunity to visit the “death-row” section when it was nearing completion, and we saw the high security section where the inmates inside the cell would stick their hands through an opening in the door to be handcuffed and later to have the cuffs removed. They required that two officers be with the prisoners at all times when they were moved from one secure area to another.
However, Dr. Stan preferred to go into the cell alone, with the two officers standing by, outside the door. There was a full medical facility in the prison with treatment rooms for the normal security inmates.
Dr. Stan loved God, he loved his family, and he loved his cars. In the 60’s & 70’s he owned and drove several sports cars at the track in Nelson Ledges, OH.
In the past few years, we only got to see him when he traveled over here for our (July) family reunion. He was a kind, loving, gentle being who died of cancer far too soon, and we will all miss him.    BF
